The DAO Racing Team has taken a significant step toward their 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship campaign with a private test at the Circuito de Monteblanco, putting the all-new 2025 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade through its paces.
With the highly anticipated season on the horizon, DAO Racing is leaving no stone unturned in their preparation. With great the all-new Honda set-up, this was not just a test for the riders, it was an important commitment for the team.
With the 2025 Fireblade brings a host of refinements, including enhanced aerodynamics, improved power delivery, and state-of-the-art electronics features the team were keen to optimize and collect crucial data ahead of the official Bennetts British Superbike test in Navarra this weekend.
Josh Brookes, Superbike Rider #25:
‘We got off to a positive start, every step we made turned to gold, then as we moved through the test and started to make more changes, frustrations came as we were working hard at getting dialled back in, with my riding style and changes made to the bike. I’m happy enough with the progress and I know as we keep making improvements, we’ll keep making it feel even sweeter.’
Ben Stafford, Crew Chief:
‘We’ve had pretty good few days testing and definitely highlighted the areas we want to improve on and then made a good calculation of the positives and negatives of the bike and the areas of which we need to make our improvements. We are bonding well as a new crew, all the guys are getting on well, we’ve got a really strong crew. The whole team has felt like a great atmosphere across the board. It’s been as much a test for us as a team, as it has been for the riders.
Lee Jackson, #14:
‘We’ve had a few solid days on track bedding new parts in for the bike. When it was a little warm it felt like at one point we stopped making much progress. But then the real work began, the positive progress continued, there are still areas I want to improve, but we made some good steps, putting us in good sted for Navarra.’
Barry Stanley, Crew Chief:
‘Overall it’s been very positive. It’s been a good shake down of the bike, we had a couple of little technicals, but Lee was comfortable by the end feeling consistent and very positive. I think there is plenty of potential, the feeling was coming and we were getting a good base setting to work from. So, yes a good start, and looking forward to Navarra.’
Jonny Bagnall, Team Manager:
‘Considering the new set up within the team in everyway, it was a really positive start with both riders happy. We’ve not necessarily been looking at lap times, more trying out different scenarios and sticking to our testing plan, which has gone well. The team are working really well together, overall it’s been a very positive test for everyone. We leave for Navarra looking forward to building on what we’ve learnt and getting going with the official BSB 2025 season’
