DAO Racing Honda Take Positives from Donington Park Weekend

DAO Racing Honda emerged from the latest round of the ZYN British Superbike Championship at Donington Park with plenty of positives to take forward, as Lee Jackson secured two top-ten finishes and Josh Brookes continued to show strong pace and determination across the weekend.

The penultimate round of the 2026 championship saw the DAO Racing Honda pairing of Lee Jackson and Josh Brookes return to the historic Leicestershire circuit, with both riders looking to build on the progress shown earlier in the season.

Jackson enjoyed a consistent weekend, delivering three points-scoring finishes across the three races. He finished 11th in Saturday’s opening race, before improving to seventh in Sunday’s Race 2 sprint and then securing 10th in the final race of the weekend.

The seventh-place finish in Race 2 was Jackson’s best result of the weekend, while his 10th-place finish in Race 3 ensured he completed all three races inside the points.

Jackson’s consistency also helped strengthen his position in the championship standings. Following the Donington Park weekend, he sits ninth in the British Superbike Championship with 162 points.

For Jackson, the weekend continued the positive momentum of recent rounds. His Race 2 performance in particular saw the DAO Racing Honda firmly inside the top ten, while his Race 3 result provided another valuable points finish at a crucial stage of the season.

Josh Brookes also produced a determined performance throughout the weekend and showed encouraging pace from the outset.

The two-time British Superbike Champion was third fastest in Friday’s opening Free Practice session, putting the DAO Racing Honda inside the top three and demonstrating strong early pace. Official BSB timing records show Brookes just 0.513 seconds from the fastest time set by Ryan Vickers.

Brookes then finished 12th in Saturday’s opening race, with the Australian fighting his way through the field during the contest. The official classification confirms Brookes finished directly behind his DAO Racing Honda team-mate Jackson in 12th.

In Sunday’s Race 2 sprint, Brookes was classified 14th, while Race 3 saw him finish 12th. The results underline the determination shown by the two-time champion across a challenging weekend, while his pace in practice demonstrated the potential within the DAO Racing Honda package.

The Donington Park weekend also provided another valuable opportunity for the team to gather data and continue the development work that has been a key feature of the 2026 campaign.

Josh Brookes: “The lap time was slightly better in the final race, I was to stay with the riders ahead of me for longer and brought a somewhat of a positive end to the weekend. Obviously not fantastic results we can speak of, but you just have to focus on the positives and we will move onto the Brands Hatch final.”

Lee Jackson: “This weekend showed the potential of myself being inside the top 10, which is where I know I can be and know where DAO Racing can be as well.

“A little bit to work on for Brands Hatch but was obviously there earlier in the year and have some set-up from that and it’s been great to be back at Donington, three finishes, three point scoring finishes and the championship is still on, it its getting closer and tighter so I think it is going to go down to the last race at Brands Hatch and we will see what the outcome is.”

Team manager Jonny Bagnall: “It’s been a challenging weekend for us once again, however Lee’s results have given us a positive feeling as we head into the final round at Brands Hatch.

“Our full focus now turns to rounding off the year on a high, at the final round anything can happen and we’re hopeful of even more positive results.”

The final round of the 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship takes place at Brands Hatch from October 16-18, where DAO Racing Honda will look to end the season on a positive note.
